The East European Geophysical Association was found- ed in 2005 with the aim of generalizing the experience of using electromagnetic methods in exploration geo- physics and developing a new generation of electro- prospecting equipment on this basis. East European Geophysical Association in Russian trans- lation means “Восточно-Европейская Геофизическая Ассоциация”. A combination of first letters of each word of the title originates the word “ВЕГА” or in En- glish VEGA – a name of a star.
